Melt butter in heavy 3 quart pan. Add brown sugar and salt, stirring until thoroughly combined. Blend in corn syrup. Gradually add condensed milk, stirring constantly. Cook and stir over medium heat until candy reaches firm-ball stage (245 degrees) for 12-15 minutes (but usually takes longer). Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into buttered 9x9x2" baking dish. Cool thoroughly. Cut into small squares, and wrap in clear plastic if desired.

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter, not margarine
Mixed nuts
2-3 Hershey's candy bars
Pam pan and sprinkle nuts in pan.
In heavy pan on medium high, cook sugar and butter until brown (color of pecan)-about
8 minutes.
Pour sugar/butter mixture over nuts. Melt hershey bars on top and spread over
toffee.
